Leaps and Turns, Stretch and Tricks and ESI Classes in Winter Springs, FL

Kinetic Dance Force in Winter Springs, FL offers three technique and conditioning classes that support every style: Leaps and Turns with Rebecca Tarner, Stretch and Tricks with Kaylee Addis, and ESI (Endurance, Strength and Injury Prevention) with Hannah Philby. Each meets once a week, and new dancers can start with a free trial.

What are technique and conditioning classes?

These classes build strength, flexibility, technique and confidence. Leaps and Turns refines turning, jumping and leaping with an emphasis on correct body placement, progressing from the basics to advanced combinations. Stretch and Tricks develops safe flexibility and the newest tricks for competition dance. ESI prepares student athletes for the demands of dance with core lifts, plyometrics and conditioning.

Which ages and days do these classes meet?

Leaps and Turns: Petite/Junior (ages 7-12) on Tuesday and Teen/Senior (ages 13-18) on Thursday. Stretch and Tricks: Teen/Senior on Tuesday and Petite/Junior on Thursday. ESI: Mini and Petite (ages 4-9) on Monday. See the class schedule PDF for class times.

Who teaches these classes at KDF?

Rebecca Tarner, Artistic Director, teaches Leaps and Turns. Kaylee Addis teaches Stretch and Tricks. Hannah Philby, a UCF Kinesiology student and former high school dance team captain, teaches ESI.

What should my dancer wear?

For Leaps and Turns and Stretch and Tricks: an athletic dance sports bra, black dance shorts and pirouette shoes. For ESI: any workout attire and clean sneakers. Hair should be neatly secured away from the face for every class. See the full dress code.

What is ESI?

ESI stands for Endurance, Strength and Injury Prevention. It gives student athletes the knowledge, motivation and training to reach their athletic potential while minimizing the risk of injury, using core lifts, plyometric exercises and conditioning to build power, strength, speed, agility and mobility.

Who should take Leaps and Turns or Stretch and Tricks?

Any dancer in the right age group can take them. They are especially helpful for dancers who want to sharpen turns, jumps and flexibility, and for dancers preparing for performances or competition. They pair well with any other style your dancer takes.

How do we try a technique or conditioning class?
